Troubleshoot Project Import
Use this guide when a repository import does not finish or the imported project does not look right.
Check Repository Access
- Confirm the repository URL is correct.
- Confirm you can open the repository in your Git provider.
- Confirm the account connected to Gitghost AI has access to the repository.
- For private repositories, complete the authorization flow shown in Gitghost AI.
Check Import Status
In the Gitghost AI project:
- Look for an import status message.
- Check whether Gitghost AI asks for additional authorization.
- Confirm the selected branch is the branch you expected.
- Try importing a small test repository if you need to isolate a provider or permission issue.
Common Causes
| Symptom | Possible cause |
|---|---|
| Repository not found | Wrong URL or missing provider access. |
| Authorization required | Private repository needs provider approval. |
| Import stays pending | Repository is large or provider access needs review. |
| Missing files | Wrong branch or partial provider permission. |
